The Mechanobiology Research Center at the University of Brescia is proud to announce a special workshop dedicated to Biofilm Mechanobiology, marking the fifth anniversary of the center’s foundation.
This milestone event will bring together leading international experts to explore the emergent mechanical properties of biofilms and their implications for infection and material science. The workshop will take place on Semptember 23rd, and it will serve as a platform to foster scientific exchange and interdisciplinary collaboration in the growing field of mechanobiology.
We are honored to welcome three distinguished keynote speakers:
-
Prof. Knut Drescher, Biozentrum, University of Basel: “Emergent Properties of Bacterial Biofilms: Mechanics and Stress Tolerance”
-
Prof. Roberto Rusconi, Humanitas University: “Mechanobiology of Biofilm Formation and Associated Infections”
-
Prof. Alojz Ivankovic, University College Dublin: “Characterisation of Mechanical Properties and Detachment of Biofilms Based on Fracture Mechanics”
The event will also be a moment to reflect on five years of pioneering research, community building, and commitment to scientific innovation.
Join us in celebrating this important occasion and in shaping the future of mechanobiological research.
Free entrance, registration required at luca.grezzi@unibs.it.
