PI – A. Salvadori
Within Mechanobiology, the misuse of terminology and methods of mechanics is increasingly noted, especially by isolated groups of biochemists and biologists, in order to use mechanobiology as a strategy to expand range of action, to the total detriment of a foundational discipline that dates back to Newton and Galileo, who incidentally was also the inventor of the telescope and, in a certain way, forerunner of microscopy.
With a lesser extent, similar mechanisms seem to apply vice versa.
The aim of this project is to monitor, through critical notes in journals and congresses, terminological (such as “the mechanics of …”, “the role of mechanics in …”) as well as methodological abuses in the scientific literature and in the sitography.
